The library has a lot to offer you as a refugee in Denmark.

Register as a library user

All refugees over the age of 18 can be registered as a user of the five libraries of Gladsaxe. To register you must contact the staff at any library in Gladsaxe. You do not need a Danish social security card or number to register, and it is free of charge.

As a library user you have free access to borrowing books, music, films, and games from the library. You will also be able to make us of the many digital services, which you can find on the library’s website gladbib.dk.

The library offers access to computers, the internet, scanners, photo copiers and a printer. If you simply want to relax in a comfortable chair with a book, you are more than to welcome to do so, and your children can make free use of our children libraries filled with books, games and toys.

Your library card also gives you access to the libraries during the unmanned opening hours.

Free e-books for both adults and children

The online service “e-Reolen Global” gives you acces to a great number of books in various languages – mostly English. As a registered library user you have free access to the service.

On the websites e-reolen Global and the Norwegian National Library you also have access to digital books in Ukrainian. You will especially find many books for children. 

Furthermore, several publishers have decided to grant free online access to children’s book, colouring books, activity books and audio books in Ukrainian.

International magazines and journals

Through the digital service PressReader you have access to international magazines and journals for both adults and children. The service can be accessed on a computer and through the PressReader app, which is available for both smart phone and tablet. Among many other things, you can gain access to 63 Ukrainian magazines and journals.

Registration as a library user is required to access this service. After having registered you need to log in to PressReader. Press “Sign in” and choose “Libraries & Groups”, where you pick Gladsaxe Bibliotekerne. Then use the login information you received during registration as a library user.
